AMADTek Housing Solutions works together with families, local communities, volunteers, and partners around the Baton Rouge area to enable those in need to live in affordable and safe housing. With our focus on families experiencing homelessness, we also provide educational tools to overcome the systematic barriers that have historically prevented low income families from obtaining adequate shelter.
In the 1950's in a small neighborhood in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Thelma Lee -- Mrs. Kitty as she was affectionately called -- created a welcoming and safe place for many people in her neighborhood. Friends, family, and neighbors visited for a hot meal, for help, comfort and inspiration, or for a break from their-day-to-day concerns. This house was her home with her husband and five children. Her servant's heart inspired her to impact the lives of many. Mrs. Kitty and the community that she built is the foundation for our nonprofit and its mission. Our President and Executive Director, Audrey Dibrell, grew up in this home that sparked the desire for our mission. Thirty years later, we started AMADtek Housing Solutions to grow and expand Mrs. Kitty's heart and vision for the people of the Baton Rouge community.
